Description

There is also an audio version of Autobiography read by actor Ben Kingsley (who also played Gandhi). In December 1894 Vivekananda, Vivekananda delivered a lecture before the Brooklyn Ethical Association. He explained, according to Hindu tradition, students should not be charged, and a teacher has to bear expenses of his works. He was the chief disciple of Ramakrishna and played a crucial role in raising interfaith awareness and elevating Hinduism to a major world religion.

For the evening walk, Vivekanand remained in his saffron robe, and while he was walking near a park, a woman (who had been conspicuously observing him for some time) stopped him. From mid-June to early August 1895, Vivekananda conducted a series of private lectures to a group of selected disciples at Thousand Island Park. The author's oratory skills are also on full display, with each lecture delivered in a clear and concise manner that is easy to follow.

As a reproduction of a historical artifact, this work may contain missing or blurred pages, poor pictures, errant marks, etc. Then the woman's answer was that she was very fascinated with the wisdom of Swamiji and wished for such a wise child. As this print on demand book is reprinted from a very old book, there could be some missing or flawed pages, but we always try to make the book as complete as possible. Therefore, you will see the original copyright references, library stamps (as most of these works have been housed in our most important libraries around the world), and other notations in the work.

It was a small room of a lodging house where he was staying at that time, and the number of students and disciples increased so rapidly that it soon went beyond of the small room's capacity of the chairs. After finishing the lecture series in Detroit, he went to New York and lectured in a few other cities. The interest of the students of Vivekananda grew so much that they requested Vivekananda to continue the classes through the summer too.

This masterpiece has been meticulously Reprinted in 2023, utilizing the invaluable guidance of the original edition published many years ago in 1910. We believe this work is culturally important, and despite the imperfections, have elected to bring it back into print as part of our continuing commitment to the preservation of printed works worldwide. With a peaceful and illuminating presence, he shared messages of peace and bliss, nurturing the hearts of his ardent devotees. His books (compiled from lectures given around the world) on the four Yogas (Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga) are very influential and still seen as fundamental texts for anyone interested in the Hindu practice of Yoga.
