About this deal

Today, I applied the L’Homme Ideal EDT at 10 am, and come 6:30 pm, my wife still detects its presence. Moderate projection as it is more of a gentleman scent with good performance, easily 8 hours on my skin. I may lean more towards the extreme because it is spicier which adds a little more depth in my opinion but it is close . The opening begins with a bright citrusy opening, but the best part is after 15 minutes or so, when that amazing almond note shows itself and takes the fragrance into a completely unexpected direction. It’s a semi-sweet gourmand with a much-needed youthful masculine kick which adds all the depth needed to be a great fragrance.

This is one of those fragrances that strikes the best balance of being unique smelling compared to other winter designer fragrances, but not in a challenging way. It’s a bit of a shape-shifter on my skin, sometimes turning medicinal or fresh tea-like, depending on how I feel and what I ate that day.

Although less versatile for its inexistent freshness, I prefer the Azzaro's scent type and I get a lot better performance. About an hour or so in to the dry down, the incense comes in to darken the brightness of the opening and ties the experience together. It lasts 3 to 4 hours on my skin and then fades into such a minuscule skin scent that I have to dig my nose into my arm just to catch the tiniest whiff.

Had the same issue with the Intense version as well while the Extreme is working in beast mode on me. The problem is that it doesn't protect longer than 10 minutes and longevity is about an hour if you spray really heavy.I'd say it's definitely closer to the discontinued COLOGNE, and the only similarities with the EDP/EXTREME is the almond note. The more it sits the more it gets some of the spices and warmth, making it almost resemble a cherry cola. Old batch smells like almond and cherry(citruses gives this cherry feeling) with a clean vetiver finish, new one is more like lineer almond scent.

What I get from it is a mixture of very faint citrus alongside with Almond, Rum , Amaretto , whisky, and leather . A good candidate for a signature scent, could be worn all year around, in formal settings or informal gatherings, at a date night, at office, whatever. I get the cherry/almond combo but the aromatics from the lavender helps tone it down and the tonka bean, vanilla and sandalwood help give it a smooth sweetness. The orange blossom top note already proposes an elegant sweet ambiance and participates in the sweet accord together with the tonka and almond notes.I don’t consider this as a potential signature scent for me because is way too dress up, professional fragrance while I am more of a sporty - elegant dude. Would defo recommend for younger guys like myself, if they want to stand out and have a unique scent, but the sweet vanilla scent is probably not the best fit for a skinfade and a tracksuit. However the almond, though not nearly as enthralling as in Tonka Imperiale, is what makes this scent for me.
