All dark ones will cause as much destruction and disharmony as they can in the host and any relationships they have with others - family, marriage, social, work. Destructive habits, addictions, self harming will be pushed onto the host through fear and the ultimate goal is the suicide of the host. In her book Ghosts and Earthbound Spirits (2006) Williamsonremarks that mediums disagree about how ghostsor spirits should be defined. ‘Ghost’ is the term generally applied to spirits that inhabit houses; others call these ‘earthbound spirits’. Spiritualists 11 refer to those they communicate with as ‘spirits’. 12 This can all be taken care of by doing your own shadow healing around these concerns, and dealing with whatever comes up in such a way that it no longer holds any charge for you. By attending to your own healing needs in this area, you can create a supportive and open space in which your clients can deal with similar issues. Keep in mind also that once you’ve had some basic training as supplied with this article and gained some experience, it is likely that you’ll consider spirit-releasement work to be no different than other kinds of healing work you already do...

It would seem that attachments find a human being that did the same or similar things in life to themselves, so we find drug users finding and attaching to other drug users. The same with alcoholics and they will frequent the same locations as those that they wish to attach to, like pubs and clubs. In what follows, I will be talking about these subtle energies as I have come to know and experience them, both in clients and students as well as within myself, with the hope that this might help shed light on your journey into this intriguing world.Ask yourself the following questions. If you answer, “Yes” to more than four or five, it indicates a likelihood that you have an attachment. Spirit attachment, also known as entity attachment, refers to the belief or concept that a disembodied entity or spirit can attach itself to a living person. It is often associated with the paranormal, spiritual, or metaphysical realms. Before looking at methods of spirit release something needs to be said about the relationship between the inner spiritual dimension of our being and the physical body that we inhabit. When the earthbound spirit of a deceased person is discovered it is encouraged to move into ‘The Light’ where it may continue on its spiritual journey. Non-human entities may be ‘captured’ by angelic beings and escorted to an appropriate place for their education and guidance.

Negative spirit influence is therefore treated by psychiatry with chemical medicines that are used to try to suppress the symptoms. This tragedy of love hatred and jealousy had not ended with physical death; the group had unconsciously been drawn into the psychic atmosphere of the patient, and the violent fighting had continued within her aura. Since her nervous resistance was exceedingly low at this time, one after the other had usurped her physical body, with a resulting disturbance that was unexplainable by her attendants. 25

The first part of the present book is as balanced an introduction to this bewildering topic as I have ever come across. But the most important section of the book is the one that begins with chapter ten, describing Crabtree’s own experiences of such cases. It was, I think, just as well for Crabtree to offer his credentials as a scientific historian in the first part of the book, otherwise some of these cases – and I draw particular attention to those of ‘The Confused Father’ and ‘The Complaining Mother’ – would give rise to the suspicion that he is stretching the facts. While some psychologists will, no doubt, prefer to ignore Crabtree’s findings, those who are open-minded enough to consider them without bias will find that they open strange and exciting perspectives. 27
